Caterpillar Asia Pacific’s Courtesy Visit to CKB Jakarta Mega Hub

Raymond Chan, Caterpillar (CAT) Vice President for the Asia Pacific, Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), Africa & Middle East Distribution Division visited one of CKB Logistics’ warehouse facilities, the Jakarta Mega Hub located at Cakung on March 31, 2016. CKB Directors, Iman Sjafei and R. Imam Santoso welcomed Raymond in his courtesy visit to CKB. 

Raymond was accompanied by Bari Hamami, Trakindo Utama President Director along with other Trakindo management, whereas he was guided throughout the CKB’s facility that being used by Trakindo to store and manage CAT’s products, such as heavy units and parts. 

Raymond’s visit to Jakarta is to reward Trakindo as winner of CAT’s Award for category “Going the Extra Miles Inter-Dealer Award” and “Asia Pacific 6 Sigma President's Award”. Trakindo is the sole distributor of CAT’s products for Indonesia since 1970.

During the visit, Iman also explained about CKB Logistics appointment as one of Bonded Logistics Center (PLB) operators by President Joko Widodo on March 2016. As PLB operator, CKB Logistics received amenities from the Indonesia Customs and Excise, and could directly re-allocated cargos from port to destination PLB without queuing, hence decreasing dwelling time issue that had been highlighted as logistics issue in Indonesia.

Raymond expressed his pleased with PLB system, as he said that it is a fair competition between Indonesia and Singapore for better logistics cost that could affected clients’ needs for effective and efficient product distribution, especially the CAT’s products distribution in Indonesia.

Furthermore, the courtesy visit is hoped could increase better business synergy between CAT, Trakindo, and CKB Logistics.
